There was a lot of talk regarding the importance of consumer awareness and the need for continued vigilance and outreach. A few takeaways from the 2019 annual conference include:

  • 69% of Imposter Fraud is telephone related.
  • Millennials account for 43% of total consumer fraud.
  • Imposter scams outpaced identity theft in 2018.  First time in 15 years.
  • Fraud statistics, although staggering, are underreported.
